About Me
Hi and welcome to Megs Traveling!
Traveling around the U.S. and Europe – documenting my adventures.
Hi!! My name is Meghan, I am 21 years old, born and raised in San Luis Obispo, CA. I graduated in May from San Diego State University with my B.S. in Business Administration Management, and a double minoring in Marketing and Interdisciplinary Studies. Now that I am done with school I am making time for travel!
My travel experience includes spending four months living in Florence, Italy during a semester abroad with API in 2024, during which I had the opportunity to visit 9 different countries. I studied at Instituto Lorenzo de Medici and took classes in Luxury Brand Management, Retail Brand Management, Fashion Marketing, and the Italian Cuisine. I had never been out of the country before, so this was my first international experience. Now I am back in San Diego but have lots of travel plans coming up including a trip back to Italy in June 2025. How The blog came to be
The Story of Megs Traveling
Here is how Megs Traveling came about. Megs Traveling began when I came home from college in Summer 2023 and both of the exciting new jobs I had lined up fell through and I immediately freaked out and started looking for new jobs at home. In the meantime, I started going out to eat with my friends documenting my food and adventures in my camera roll. I became very bored waiting impatiently for a job offer. While scrolling through Instagram, as one does, I came across a ton of videos recommending food and activities in San Diego. I was very drawn to these videos and thought, I could do this.
After watching many videos and taking a content creation course I started creating travel content on Instagram @megs.traveling. With a lot of research, time, and effort I started putting together reels of my favorite places in SLO and San Diego to recommend to my followers. After a couple months I became very passionate about the content that I was creating and decided to invest more time into making the quality of my videos better and taking trips to shoot more content.
When I found out that I was going to study in Italy for 4 months I saw it as an opportunity to create this blog as a space to connect with other travelers and provide advice for young people looking to travel. I also wanted to be able to share my experiences and recommendations with my followers.
Even though I am San Diego and San Luis Obispo based, I mainly be produce Europe content about my 4 months in Florence, Italy and my international travels. I am so excited to share my adventures and experiences not only while I’m abroad but also all the adventures at home!
